The program recognizes businesses that operate in an environmentally friendly manner and encourages other workplaces to adopt green business practices. The Harriet Hancock LGBT Center has committed to reducing waste at our events, maintaining a facility where energy and water use are conserved, and encouraging LGBT citizens of Columbia to do what they can to protect the environment in our city.
The South Carolina Gay + Lesbian Business Guild is a not-for-profit organization supporting the needs of South Carolina’s gay and lesbian members of the business community and our allies. Membership in the Guild provides great networking opportunities, fun activities and events—plus a dollars and “sense” way of increasing commerce, trade and professional contacts. The Harriet Hancock LGBT Center believes that our community has strength in our buying power and where we spend our money does matter. Consider supporting members of the Guild before supporting companies or services that are not LGBT-inclusive.
